Smile, you're on Candid Camera

I hate hidden camera shows.

I hate them from Candid Camera all the way down through every one of its stupid frickin' descendants like Punk'd and Howie Do It.

Hate them.

Does this have some personal story?
Have you been "Punk'd"?

Actually, no. I just happened to flip through and see Howie Do It and see a victim get absolutely irate when the prank was being pulled on him.

As he got madder and madder, the audience laughed more and more.

It was shameful.

Completely unrelated to this post...

Last night in my Popular & Contemporary Music class, we were talking about Jay Bennett's lawsuit against Jeff Tweedy. My professor interjected that his wife worked with Bennett on some solo stuff. He said that he isn't the tool he appears to be, and suffers from major self-esteem issues, and thus comes off as a jerk. All in all, he said he was a pretty nice guy. Thought you'd be interested in that.

I had no clue that Bennett had filed the lawsuit. Since your comment, I looked it up. Very interesting.

I never really assumed that Bennett was a tool - even from the movie. I just got that he and Tweedy wanted different things from the band, and in the end, Tweedy wasn't going to lose that one.

Bennett seemed a little bitter, but I never thought he was in the wrong or foolish. If anything, I thought Tweedy came off looking worse because he came off looking like the dictator of the band.

Thanks for the update there, though. Fascinating stuff...
