I stumbled upon this website listing 20 free web apps for the 2.0 student and am only vaguely familiar with even a couple of these. I know ChaCha and have heard of Diigo, but I haven't heard of a single one of the other web apps that the post lists.
Are any of them - Diigo, even - worth me checking out?

Mint is freaking awesome, but you have to give them a load of financial information (and essentially always use credit) for it to work to the best of its ability. Basically they track your spending information and give you all kinds of tips on what to cut out and how much money you would save annually from doing so.
.... and that's all this tech nerd has heard of that you haven't. I'm sure some of the other stuff is useful, but a lot of it is nothing that colleges don't give you the "real" 1st party versions of for free (Matlab, Outlook/Lotus Notes, Word, OneNote, etc.)
There is something to be said for free though
Cannot say enough about Rememberthemilk.com. It essentially runs my life. if you are looking for a to do list or a GTD-like capture everything system, check it.
Crikey - love the icon, by the way - yeah, but that would involve me getting a smart phone, and I'm just not there yet.
Joey - the need for major registration doesn't sound like a lot of fun. There's a bunch of usefulness to the free sites, though.
