Kinda funny story over on CNN.com...
The USS Intrepid - a floating museum in New York City's harbor - seems to be stuck in the mud.
Big, gigantic ship...one of the largest, most powerful warships around...dealer of death, rainer of hellfire from the skies upon the godless opponents of the United Gosh-Darn States of Ameruka...backbone of our naval superiority over ever tin-pot dictator who might pop his head up...
is
stuck
in
the
mud
And we can't seem to get it out.
Oh, sure, we're hoping that an unusually high tide might help us a little bit at some point, but we're pretty much clueless as to what to do otherwise.
Feel free to watch the lack of progress on their live webcam on the museum website.
Feel free to chuckle as much as you need to.

Maybe this is why the US is not participating in stopping global warming. The rise in sea level will free the USS Intrepid at no cost to the government.
The amazing foresight by our government astounds me quite often...
I do wish, however, that they would have told us this was why they needed the sea levels to rise. Would've saved a lot of hassling of each other.
