too bright; it is a massive change from what i've gotten used to the past 6 years.
if it was more of a mahogany and less of an oak/pine i wouldn't be as against it. in general though, i don't like staring at bright backgrounds if given the choice.
It's just not you...it's the kind of thing you make fun of when it shows up in an email or background on a web page.
And, I'm with both Joey and Bdubba...it's a massive shift from the black background but even if you change the background to kangaroos holding balloons while riding pink unicorns, I'll keep hanging around and reading your stuff.

Wood is just not the 'essence' of ChemGuy. It's your blog and if you like it, leave it. I'll still read anyway. :)

the kangaroos and balloons is an excellent idea actually. and im diggin the mahogany now.
Just from personal issues (I normally check this on my phone) background images are a pain. Simple colors load faster on my android.
I too am very used to the black. My main issue, though, is the addition of 'more after the jump.' I don't want to click. I want to read.
