I've had a half dozen 'cold weather' topics working at the margins of the blog this year. None of them have alone managed to work into a full post, but together they're coming out today.
So many of these winter photos - not all from this year by any means - are ridiculously impressive.
I've written before of my desire to see Niagara Falls freeze, and even as cold as this year has been, it's not a guarantee that a visit to the Falls would get me a frozen falls. Photos were circulating on the web this year saying that the Falls had frozen, but those photos turned out to have been from two years ago and still not totally frozen. There is, however, a fair bit of ice built up around the Falls.
There has been ice on the Ohio River in Cincinnati this winter, but we're nowhere near the winters of '77 and '78...or '18.
