Jackson Browne - Cocaine... very different from the JJ Cale/Eric Clapton version.
"She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper
"Laid" by James
"Blister in the Sun" by Violent Femmes
"Gigantic" by Pixies
"Fire it Up" by Modest Mouse
"Smoke Two Joints" and "Bong Song" by Sublime
"Who's Got the Weed?" by G. Love and Special Sauce
"The Needle and the Damage Done" by Neil Young
"Mother's Little Helper" by the Rolling Stones
"Feel Good Hit of the Summer" by Queens of the Stone Age
Smack My *itch Up- The Prodigy
The Spiderbite Song - Flaming Lips
Novocaine for the Soul - Eels
I Want You So Hard (Boy's Bad News) by the Eagles of Death Metal. Actually, pretty much any song by these guys would fit in either category, pick anything from their "Death by Sexy" album. And just to clarify, they are nowhere near death metal.
Cmorin - excellent suggestion
Katydid - "She Bop" is wonderful, as it "Blister in the Sun". I'll have to listen to the lyrics of "Gigantic" and "Laid" again.
I'm disappointed that I missed "Mother's Little Helper" and "Needle".
Achilles3 - excellent choice
ReJecht - I sadly don't know either one of those. I'll have to check 'em.
Aaron - I've heard of but not heard anything by the Eagles of Death Metal. Worth checking out?
