I dig the sketch Le Jeunes de Paris on Saturday Night Live. It's just absurd enough for my tastes.
I am curious, though, why the videos rarely survive on YouTube for long - issues with music licensing, perhaps?
Luckily other video streaming sites aren't quite as legally-bound...
Les Jeunes De Paris from pete theman on Vimeo.
There are still two more I'm trying to embed - one with Anna Kendrick and a second with Emma Stone. I'll see what I can find.
'Til then, I'll link to them.

The Awkward Webcomic
The Awkward Yeti is really funny, and it's vaguely scientific, too.
Check out some of my favorites...
Actually, I have to add some words here so that awkward Yeti over there to the right doesn't block the full-width panels that I'm going to include down below.
Sheesh, that takes a whole lot of words.
Am I finished with that yet?
I think I am, yeah...

From this weekend's WHCD - whatever that is
The first three minutes are funny. At about 3:25, things get real, and I'm way more impressed from there forward. (YouTube link)

Happy birthday to me
This has absolutely nothing to do with today being my fortieth birthday, but it entertains the heck out of me, anyway.

Tastefully, Offensively Chucklesome
Tastefully Offensive is worth checking out from time to time. It's funny.

That's two dozen
"Ya got ten...then ya got ten more...then it's like, what's this, four more?...twenty-four, faggetaboutit..."
This could revolutionize math as we know it.

The freakiest of trees
The Stanford Tree has gotten even freakier this year.
And I love it...
...love it a whole, whole bunch.
The tongue, the flowered shorts, the gloves, the multi-colored palm tree leaves.
It's spectacular.
Not that the past ones haven't been awesome, though.
I especially dig the gold tree, the red tree, and the one that's mostly trunk just above the red tree.
Love the weirdness.

Maps, huh!
19 Maps That Will Blow Your Mind is exactly what it says: 19 maps that will blow your mind.
Really, though, it's an article that can't possibly be described properly. It needs to be read with little introduction or prior knowledge. Check it out for yourself then come back and discuss...

I can see the future
Ah, Buttersafe, you slay me...
There are more panels than what I'm showing you, but I want you to go to the Buttersafe site to see the full, brilliant comic.

A moderately expensive joke
In what I'm guessing is a reference to a joke in Portal, water bottles with the following warning are being sold: "WARNING: May cause diaphoresis, micturition, and acute tissue hydration."
See, it's funny.
Sadly the bottles being sold by the Portal folks look kind of lame and have a giant Portal logo on one side...
...and it doesn't expressly say that it has that warning on the backside. Other sites, however, do show photos of the backside of the bottle...
At $9.99 plus S&H, that's not a bad price for a decent little gag, but I really don't like the Portal logo.
For a scant $31.05, however, I can get the same warning on a bottle of my chosen color thanks to Zazzle and can change the bottle size for an extra buck - or change the text color and other stuff, too.
Is a red bottle without the logo worth paying the extra $20 for?
I'm thinking that it might be.

The Adventures of Business Cat
There aren't a whole lot of strips of Adventures of Business Cat posted yet, but the ten or so strips that have been posted are thoroughly entertaining.

Heds must roll
I'm a huge fan of punny headlines whether they're on the signs outside Tire Discounters, the marquees in front of churches, or atop the newspaper page.
The tumblr Heds Will Roll posts not-quite-used headlines that are universally outstanding puns.

A man after my heart...and my art skills...
I wandered into the Math With Bad Drawings blog via a post at Neatorama pointing out a joking post about math experts splitting a check at a restaurant. The jokes are mostly about stereotypes of how engineers, physicists, mathematicians, computer scientists, and economists use math.
The joke is accompanied by his white board drawings of the various professionals and their thoughts about the check. I appreciate that his drawing skills with the white board markers are about the equivalent of mine.
After having read through every one of his posts (he only has about thirty or so, having started in April of this year and not having posted too frequently), I can safely say that I appreciate this Oakland, CA math teacher's blog for a lot of other reasons.
I appreciate it for his analogy of teaching being like throwing fistfuls of sand into the ocean.
I appreciate it for his beautiful explanation (and his wife's and his father's) of why you can't divide by zero.
I appreciate it for his openness in relating a time when he, too, struggled at math - as he knows his students do.
I appreciate his exploration of the failures and successes of teaching - how bad the former feels and how good the latter.
I appreciate his candor and three messages for his students at the end of the year.
And I appreciate him telling me how to play ultimate tic-tac-toe.
