Why, yes, I did buy the DVD of
New Jack City from the local and going out of business Blockbuster because The Girl had $20 in Blockbuster gift cards that we just found this weekend.
Shut up, none of the local libraries have that movie, and I remember liking it when I saw it in the theater in high school.
In the same vein we are also the proud owners of a previously-viewed
Scott Pilgrim vs the World and some boxes of candy.
Total spent - $20.20

I bought like 17 movies when one of our Blockbusters went out of business. Everything was $5, it was a magical day.
And there's nothing wrong with "New Jack City"...
I wish ours was going out of business enough to get to $5.
So how many DVDs do you physically own?
133, counting seasons of television as a single disc. Considering I know a few film majors whose numbers are in the thousands, I'm okay with that, especially since most are second-hand.
My rules for purchase are Blu-ray, Criterion Collection, out of print, or incredibly cheap.
I wish you well with all those. I find myself wanting to get rid of more and more things. Digital files don't take up nearly as much space.
